Since 1986, The Five Star's policy has always been to provide the best quality in foods, litter and services for your cats and we have always encouraged inspection without appointment.
Our aim is quite simply to treat all our feline guests in the same way we care for our own five cats, with care and with constant individual attention.
We are very proud to have been selected by Yorkshire Television as the featured cattery in their "Catcall" program with Liza Goddard working as our kennel maid for the day.
General information
Your cat's holiday accommodation should be chosen as carefully as you choose your own. We at the Five Star Cattery, as cat owners ourselves, have given a great deal of thought to the comfort and well being of our feline "guests".
Opened in 1986 and currently licensed to accommodate up to fifty "guests, the cattery offers a superior and caring environment for your cat. Set on a three quarter acre site in a pleasant village location, the purpose built establishment will satisfy the most discerning of clients.
You are most welcome to visit the cattery without appointment any day to view the facilities and to discuss your cat's likes and dislikes. Adult cats are fed twice a day on whatever diet they are accustomed to at home. The main food served is top quality brand names and milk is available if required. Individual and special diets can be arranged when your booking is made. Please remember to book early for peak holiday periods as we are usually completely full at these times. It is not unusual for us to receive bookings up to twelve months in advance from some of our regular clients.
Luxury Accommodation
The accommodation at The Five Star Cattery is of the highest quality and is split into three areas.
The main outside cattery consists of twenty purpose built chalets in two blocks. Each chalet has an opening window, door and cat flap and has vinyl floor, a carpeted area and a bed. Each has an outdoor run which at 10' long, 6' high and 3' wide, gives plenty of exercise area for your cats. The is an undercover area in each run with litter tray and a water dish. All runs are double locked and for added security, each opens into a central security corridor, which itself is also locked. The entire area is protected by secuity lighting.
Each of the outdoor chalets can comfortably accommodate 2 cats from the same "family" but for those of you with more than just the two, we also have two purpose built "family" chalets.
The final area of the cattery is the indoor area. This is a series of indoor chalets situated in a heated brick built building. It is carpeted and cosy and an ideal area for short stays, young kittens and the older cats who may not require the outside runs. The indoor chalets are very popular with pedigree cat owners and the runs are up to 10' in length.

Vaccination Info
All cats that stay at the Five Star Cattery MUST be vaccinated against "Cat Flu" and "Feline Enteritis". An up to date vaccination certificate must be produced on arrival with your cat *. It will be obvious to all caring owners that maintaining a regular annual re-vaccination is the best way of protecting your cat, both at home and in the cattery.
* Please note that failure to produce your up to date certificate will result in refusal to accept your cat.
Boarding Fees
A full day's accommodation is charged for both days of arrival and departure as the chalet is reserved for your cat(s) for both days. Whenever possible, please bring your cat(s) to us early in the day to allow them time to settle in.
